National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is a premiere fashion institute in India. It was set up in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It is a premier institution in design, management and technology, developing professionals’ leadership positions in the international fashion business. NIFT has been granted statutory status under the act of Parliament of India in 2006, empowering the Institute to award degrees and other academic distinctions, making it the first-of-its-kind in the world.

Master of Fashion Technology (M F.Tech) (Apparel Production)
BDes (Fashion Design)
Master of Fashion Technology (M F.Tech) (Management)
Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B FTech) (Fashion Design)
Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B F.Tech) (Corporate and Business Accessories)
To get admission in Bachelor’s degree you must have passed 10+2 pattern of examination from any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
Important dates (tentative):
Application forms will be available from 19th November, 2010 to 05th January, 2011.
Last date for submission of form: 10th January, 2011.
Written entrance examination will be held on 20th February, 2011.
Declaration of written examination result: End of March, 2011
Situation test/group discussion/interview: April-May, 2011
Declaration of final result
Bachelor programmes: End of May, 2011
Master programmes: 1st week of June, 2011
The prospectus can be obtained by hand from selected branches of Axis and IDBI bank across the country on payment of Rs 250/- (the list of selected branches is available on its official website) Prospectus can also be obtained from any of the NIFT centers by hand of Rs 250/- or by post on payment of Rs 350/- by way of demand draft in favour of NIFT payable at New Delhi.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination includes both written test and a Personality test followed by group discussion and personal interview. The question paper in written test, will be based on General Ability, Creative Ability and Managerial Ability.
