JNU SIS stands for Jawaharlal Nehru University School of International Studies were launched in 1955 as a part of University of Delhi. Afterward the School was imparted the status of a ‘Deemed’ University. The Jawaharlal Nehru University was launched in 1969 and it altered its name to the School of International Studies and became a component of JNU. School of International Studies strive to furnish facilities free from the constraints inherent in the subject based fragmentary pursuit of knowledge and to bring together students trained in diverse fields but sharing a common intellectual interest in international affairs and field studies, to carry out education and research at the post-graduate level.
