Drop & Truncate are Data Definition Language (DDL) requires, and apply an implicit Commit. It’s worth studying the Oracle Concepts Manual for this sort of thing, because it’s pretty fundamental.
Drop: – It’s a DDL command and when you drop a table, normally the database does not immediately release the space affiliated with the table. Rather, the database makes the table and places it in a recycle bin, where it can later be recovered with the Flashback Table statement if you find that you dropped the table in error. If you should require to immediately releasing the space affiliated with the table at the time you issue the DROP TABLE statement, include the PURGE clause as shown in the statement.
Truncate: – Truncate is same as delete but its does not write canceled records into the rollback segments that means it’s not recoverable by publishing rollback. It completely removes records from the database and space is deallocated.
