HP CMAT (Himachal Pradesh Combined Management Aptitude Test) is a common entrance test for getting admission in an MBA programme in the institutions affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University and Dr. YS Parmar University. Students from all over India can appear for HP CMAT. HP University conducts a written test to shortlist the candidates for the admission process
Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate should have a 3 years bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognized institute with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) or equivalent CGPA. Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply. Also a candidate should not be more than 26 years of age as on 1st July, 2011.
Application Forms:
The forms for HP CMAT will be available in IMS, HP University. The form can also be obtained by post from IMS by sending a Demand Draft along with the request for form. For this, the candidates only have to send a requisite letter as well as a DD in favor of the Registrar of the Institute along with a stamp of minimal value

Availability of Application Forms: First week of April, 2011
Last Date for receipt of completed application forms/Online Application: First week of May, 2011
Date of Entrance Test: Last week of May, 2011
Announcement of Results: First week of June, 2011
Selection process:
Candidates are short listed on the basis of the scores they obtain in the written Test (50%); Past Academic Performance (30%); Personal Interview (10%) and Group Discussion (10%). However there are additional marks given for other factors which include extracurricular activities, past academic record, etc that may lead to the boost in the chances of admission during the final round of selection.
