The Biju Pattanaik Film and Television Institute of Orissa (BPFTIO) was launched in 1992 under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India based on the recommendation of the Film Enquiry Committee. The institute provides diploma courses in Cinematography, Sound & TV, Engineering and Film & Video Editing.
