To get admission you must have 60% in M.Sc or 60% in equivalent degree in Engineering and you should have qualified the CSIR-NET/JEST/GATE examination valid for the current year. UGC-CSIR JRF qualified students can avail the fellowship direct from UGC or CSIR, whereas, Students selected for Ph.D. program based on GATE/JEST scores, are eligible for financial aid (Assistantship / Fellowship) from NISER, Bhubaneswar as persisting in DAE.
The selected students who opt for the Fellowship from NISER will be given Rs. 16,000/- for first 2 Years, which will subsequently be enhanced to Rs. 18,000/- for the next 2 years, subject to the condition that he/she fulfills all the requirements of the Institute that will be stipulated from time to time.
The school will conduct a written examination followed by an interview for the final selection for PhD admission. You has scored more than 30 marks in the JEST-2011 examination is invited for the written examination. However, he/she needs to intimate the school about the preferred date of examination before May 02, 2011(as NISER will conduct examination on two different dates).
